That is really the only thing you need to worry about! There are several different Jelly Roll Rug patterns available and this tool will work with all of them. I tried to use math and figure out how long I needed the first strip to be before I turned in order to get the size I wanted and it made my head hurt, so I just bought the pattern. Be really careful with the batting … I placed the batting on the wrong side of the Jelly Roll fabric and folded both edges to the middle and then folded that in half so all the raw edges were in the middle of the strip. It is just the curved edges where you are coercing the fabric around the curves that you have to remember to relax and just let the fabric guide itself around the previous row.
